Meet the SGCS Administrators

Mr. Bajema
Interim Administrator
High School Social Studies

As the interim administrator, Mr. Bajema brings 30 years of business administration experience. He received both his B.A. in business, and MBA from the University of Washington in Seattle. Prior to joining the staff at Surrey Garden, he spent two years teaching at a private girls junior and senior high school in Japan. He spent 30 years as a marketing executive in the computer industry, mostly with IBM.
This is his fourth year of teaching at SGCS.

Mr. Rasmussen
Dean of Students
High School Bible

As the dean of students, Mr. Rasmussen brings more than
15 years of teaching Christian education and his seventh year teaching at SGCS. He received his B.A. from Northwestern College and his MA in Educational Ministries from Wheaton College. Before coming to Surrey Garden Christian, Mr. Rasmussen was the Pastor to Youth at the College Church in Wheaton, near Chicago.

Mrs. Flagg
Curriculum Director, Teacher Training
High School English

As the Curriculum Director, Mrs. Flagg has worked in the area of curriculum development and teaching for more than
20 years. She received both her B.S. in journalism and English and her post degree certificate in elementary education from Northern Arizona University. Her M.Ed. is from Clarion University. Mrs. Flagg has written curriculum and articles for Scholastic and The Education Center. She has also taught preschool to college.

Dr. Tom Poe
Athlethic Director

Dr. Poe comes to SGCS from
New Mexico with a Ph.D.
in Philosophy of Christian Education
and 25 years of teaching
physical education.

Mary Ann Poe
Junior High Spanish

Mrs. Poe also comes to SGCS
from New Mexico, was raised in
South America, has a  B.A.
in Spanish, and has been
teaching Spanish since 1981.

Jim Cunningham
High School English
(co-teaching with Mrs. Flagg)

Mr. Cunningham earned a B.A.
in English and has completed
21 credits toward his Master's
in English. He is also a
returning SGCS Elementary teacher
of 2 1/2 years.

Michele Cunningham
Primary (Grades 1 - 3)

Mrs. Cunningham has two years of
Primary teaching experience at SGCS.

Lisa Pearson
Elementary (Grades 4 - 6)

Mrs. Pearson is a co-founder of SGCS
with ten years of teaching experience.
She has a B.S. in
Communication Disorders
and Pshychology, and an M.S. in
Communication Disorders.

Anna Field
Junior High Science

Mrs. Field has a B.S. in Physics
from San Diego State University.
